Introduction to Closed Die Forging.

Basic Introduction:

Generally, the gap between the upper die and the lower die is unchanged in the forging process. The blank is formed in the closed die chamber around, and no transverse flying edge is generated. A small amount of excess material will form longitudinal flying thorns, which will be removed in the subsequent process.

Main Advantage:

The forging geometry, dimensional accuracy and surface quality are as close as possible to the product, eliminating the flying edge. Compared with open die forging, closed die forging can greatly improve the utilization rate of metal materials.

Necessary Condition:

1. Accurate billet volume.

2. The billet shape is reasonable and can be accurately positioned in the mold bore.

3. The strike energy or strike force of the equipment can be controlled.

4. Ejector device on equipment.
